How long will my home inspection take?
Inspections typically take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. This can vary depending on the size and current condition of the home. Some other factors include the accessibility of certain systems and style of the home's foundation.
How much does an inspection cost?
Inspection prices vary based on the total square footage of the home's main structure. Several other factors (foundation type, additional HVAC Units, ancillary services) may also affect the fee. Your home is a large investment, and you want to ensure that who you hire is providing you with exceptional service and value. At Southern Source Inspections, we are able to provide you tremendous value at a fair price.
What is included in my home inspection fee?
With all of our inspections, you get a comprehensive, professional gauge on the health of your home. It includes a detailed and thorough evaluation of the home, from the foundation all the way up to the roof, all major systems, such as HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing, all the interior components, and built in appliances. In addition to the aforementioned items, you will receive complimentary thermal imaging and a digital foundation elevation survey.
When will I get my report?
You will be delivered a detailed and comprehensive digital report the same day of your inspection, complete with color coded photographs and videos to help you better understand everything about your home. We use state of the art reporting software that is very modern and visually appealing, making it easy to follow and understand, without all the unnecessary information that leads to confusion.
Can I attend the inspection and can I bring my family?
It is highly recommended that you attend your inspection. This will give you a better understanding of every component of your home and it's function. Additionally, we prefer to review your report with you in person at the home, which gives you the opportunity to ask questions, and gives us the opportunity to not only explain, but show you what we are seeing. Unfortunately, it is not recommended that you bring family members. A home inspection is a comprehensive evaluation, and you should focus solely on the information provided to you by your inspector. The fewer distractions during the inspection, the better off for all.
How much notice do you need for me to schedule my inspection?
We understand that time is of the essence in a real estate transaction. We are readily available and ready to serve you. We can schedule your inspection as quickly as the next day, availability permitting. Typically, 24 hours notice is recommended. You can call or text us to set up an appointment, or you can schedule through our online portal. Upon scheduling online, you will receive a confirmation email.
